History
1921: Creation of Osten stores s.a. in Ostende, Belgium. Manufacture of Sisal twine for bale pressing. Registration of the commercial "La Mouette" trademark.
1952: Ostend stores sells 7,200 tons of agricultural Sisal twine in France.
1987: Installation of 7 extrusion chains for La Mouette polypropylene twine in Ostende, Belgium.
1995: La Mouette distributes "side to side" pressing nets to France
1998: Takeover by Volac UK of the SILAWRAP commerce in France.
2000: Transfer of the Sisal twine manufacturing to Brazil.
The current shareholders buy 100% of OSTEND STORES assets
2001: Launch of the high density pressing twine "The Yellow".
2004: Joint venture for the manufacture of "La Mouette" netting EXTEND and OSTEX.
2006: Agreement on the exclusive distribution of SILAWRAP films in France.
2007: La Mouette s.a. sells 36 000 Ostex pressing nets and 120,000 wrapping films in France.
2009: Launch of very high density pressing twine for square bales, "The White", and OSTEX EXTREM, the only pressing net on the market with central double-weft.
